WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Dale E. Kildee (D-MI) announced today that he has secured  $4,190,000 in federal funding for dredging of the Saginaw River. This funding was secured in the Energy and Water Appropriations Bill, which passed the House Appropriations Subcommittee late yesterday. The bill still must be approved by the full House and Senate before it can be signed into law.

“The Saginaw River is a critical method of transportation for commerce in our area. Dredging of the river ensures that this waterway can provide swift and efficient shipping, which is critical for industry and business. This is an important source of local economic activity and I am proud to have secured this important funding,” said Congressman Kildee.
