WASHINGTON, D.C.  - Congressman Dale E. Kildee (D-MI) announced today that he has secured $625,000 in federal funding for the Hurley Medical Center sexual assault assistance forensic nurse examiner program. This funding was secured in the Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill, which passed the House Appropriations Subcommittee late yesterday. The bill still must be approved by the full House and Senate before it can be signed into law.

“I am very proud that I have secured this funding for Hurley Medical Center. This funding will help ensure that victims of violent crimes get the medical care they need, help provide law enforcement with the information they need to catch the perpetrators, and increase crime awareness throughout our community. Overall, this funding will help make our communities a safer place, and I am extremely proud to support this important project,” said Congressman Kildee.
