Kildee receives Sierra Club and Clean Water Action Endorsement

Organizations with a rich history of standing up for the Great Lakes come together to endorse a long time defender of the environment.

FLINT—Today Cyndi Roper, Director of Clean Water Action, and Richard Morley Barron of Sierra Club came together to endorse Congressman Kildee at UM-Flint Riverview Residence Hall overlooking the Flint River.

Cyndi Roper of Clean Water Action said, “Congressman Dale Kildee embodies what it means to be a protector of the Great Lakes. He never wavers on his opposition to drilling in the Great Lakes and brings a common sense approach to legislation. As an organization Clean Water Action is pleased to endorse Congressman Kildee and looks forward to working with him in the future.”

Dale Kildee is a fierce defender of the environment and the Great Lakes. He has continuously defended the precious natural resources of the 5th Congressional District and Michigan.

  • Opposing Drilling in the Great Lakes
  • Sponsoring Key Legislation to defend against the invasion of Asian Carp
  • Blocking any legislation that would divert water from the Great Lakes Water Basin.

Congressman Kildee said, “This is truly a great honor to be endorsed by two groups that really embody what it means to be an advocate. Both Sierra Club and Clean Water Action are great partners in the defense of the Great Lakes. The two organizations have groups all over the state working to make their local communities better and that is what being a citizen is all about. I am proud to say that I will never waver in my stance on opposing drilling in the Great Lakes and will work every day to stop Asian Carp from making it to the Great Lakes.”
